Medical Gas Testing

Medical gases and HTM02-01

Medical gases are classified as medicinal products under the Medicines Act and are therefore subject to the same procurement and quality procedures as all other medicinal products.

Medical gas pipeline systems provide a safe, convenient and cost-effective system for the provision of medical gases to the clinical and nursing staff at the point of use.

However, medical pipeline systems introduce additional hazards in the delivery of medical gases to the patient. Implementation of the recommendations of HTM02-01 is intended to manage and reduce the risks presented by these hazards.

Validation and verification is essential for the safe operation of gas transmission and distribution systems.

With over 15 years of experience in quality testing of gases and gas distribution systems we now offer a comprehensive range of gas testing services to hospitals and industry:

  • Quality control of medical gas pipeline  systems – QC(MGPS) to HTM02-01 and HTM2022
  • New installations
  • Modifications to existing systems
  • On-site generated gases
  • Medical air plant
  • Surgical air plant
  • Dental air plant
  • Oxygen concentrators
  • Synthetic air plant
  • Operational policies for MGPS

Why use us?

Medical gas pipeline systems are an efficient means of delivering medical gases to the point of use. Unfortunately, when things go wrong, they can also present an efficient means of harming patients and damaging expensive equipment.

We have experienced gas testing staff on the NHS register of authorised QC (MGPS) that also provide advice and training support to new and experienced testers.
