SMPU is a MHRA licensed and regulated pharmaceutical specials manufacturer, and provide a range of medicines and pharmaceutical services for our patients and customers worldwide. We develop novel patient treatments from an initial concept, or formulations for a special clinical need such as a new procedure or for patient safety.
As part of the NHS family, and our larger organisation Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, we are committed to enhancing the quality assurance of our products for our patients and customers, optimising the use of current technology and leading with new methods research to do this.

Unfortunately, we are experiencing some significant raw material supply problems with Chloral Hydrate used in our Chloral Hydrate Suppositories 250mg and 500mg. This situation is out of our control and we are working hard to find an alternative supply however, this is proving very difficult.
